Hi, Im Back!

Hi, Im back! Im sure you dont realise that im away from this blog site for some time *How sad* Anyway, i didnt go for holiday trips or even try abandoning this site. I was just busy with my working life. Im a free labour, you see...And I just finished watching 32 episodes of TVB drama series in 2 days! Gosh..What a marathon!

Anyway, while i was away from here, i didnt retire from my kitchen. Occasionally, i made small small things to kill my time and also to fill my tummy. That explains the 'expanding' tummy. My small cousin even touched my tummy and said i had a baby! He is such a bad boy!

Alright, back to the main point. Suddenly ..Lately, i had the urge to make cookies. I think making cookies is very fun. Even better than baking cakes or even cooking real meals. Probably because i bought a set of cookie cutters. Hehe..

Let's see what i've got here:

Okay, three types of cookies made in one night, after work. If you know me well, you wouldnt be surprised because when i wanna do something, i wouldnt bother or even care or even think of the consequences if it is not a big matter. So, this was no exception. I eagerly made three types of cookies because i wanted to make all the three types but i couldnt decided which one to make first and so, i ended up with them three.

Its the summer version of orange shortbread. Who says shortbread can only look innocent - only round in shape? They can even look very summer-ish. I think it shapes like coconut trees. Not magic wands; according to one of my friends. Too much of Harry Potter perhaps.

This is the greentea cookies. I haven told you that im a big fan of green tea right? Oh, i love green tea ice-cream! Especially those serve with red bean! yum yum...I love drinking green tea and of course, i love green tea cakes. Green tea flavoured nougat taste great too! I think anything with green tea is very good!

Oh ya, someone said the cookies look like cauliflower! Its ice cream in shape!

Lastly, the coffee cookies. Simple. I couldnt decide on coffee or chocolate so i asked my mom to decide for me. She said coffee. Its the wedding bell saped cookie cutter. Well, maybe its not wedding bell. Maybe its school bell. HAha..

Im Lovin' Them...

and she wanted to make other cakes as well.

so we stopped by the bakery store.. to find.. there's NO MORE CREAM CHEESE .... wtf.. they always run out of stock..
but luckily i still have a 250gm of cream cheese at home ..

and we bought a chocolate sponge cake mix also..

then we made the cheesecake loh..

then there were too much of the chocolate sponge cake mixture, we made 2 of it ...

then i bought back 1.. because if not.. they would have 3 cakes.. and my aunt asked me to bring back one.. mmm..

so.. i brought back.. a chocolate sponge cake with sliced almonds..

i cut it open in half.. and spreaded some raspberry jam in it... then made some chocolate ganache.. and poured on top..

tada.. another new cake.. ;p

with some small simple deco.. tada..

Kitchen War #2 : BBQ Lunch

original post here. so, yeah. i'll explain on how to make the ham + cream cheese and roasted marshmellows :) and the cocktail!
nothing genius tho.. just wanted to share :P

get some cream cheese...

ok.. grill the ham. both sides till they have soft brown lines (depends on how your grilling plate looks like)

spread some cream cheese spread on top...

roll them till it looks like this (rght)

*note : u can add asparagus in the middle if u want :P
and then.... roasting marshmellows... very easy!!! u dont need anything else..

but of course, u need marshmellows lah!

skew the marshmellows.. (if skewing is the correct word). put it on top of the grilling plate.. but DOES NOT TOUCH the plate... its like hanging ...

depending on how hot the grilling pit is.. when its done, the marshmellow will have a crisp outer skin and inside, its very very soft..

the kemek-ed roasted marshmellow

and.. just ...EAT IT !!!!

then.. the drinks .. yeah i know the drink is suppose to come first... heh.. but anyhitng..
it's a mixture of peelfresh orange, sprite and canned mixed tropical fruits

get those canned mixed fruits.. (pineapples, grapes, peach and pear) use up the juice as well.. if u want, u can cut the fruits that u want yourself.. but we didnt have much time..

pour in peelfresh orange and sprite. and add loads of ice! AND .. DRINK !!!

ok i guess thts it..

its fun to bbq at such a nice weather...

windy, mild sun, water, greens... friends..

fun fun fun !!!!

going local : Madam Kwan

i accompanied Jia and YMei to shop for their working clothes. ha. my working era just passed not long ago, so i know exactly how they feel when they're shopping for the clothes.

ok so anyway, we hoped to MidValley hoping to get some good deals (well, actually, jia didnt get much, but yeemei got quite a few, and.. well.. haha, i got some stuffs too because womens secret was on sale. yes, like 50-60%.. heh)

as usual, we always have brunch before we start our shopping, so, after some head-cracking moments of thinking of what to indulge, we decided to settle for Madam Kwan's..

Madam Kwan.  The restaurant's swank interior belies the fact that it serves good `ol hawker fare along side Western favourites. Nasi Lemak, Curry Laksa, Mushroom Chicken Mee, Nasi Bojari, Beef Rendang, Curry Fish Head, Assam Prawns, Chicken Chop, Sambal Petai, Cendol, Ice Campur, Bubur Cha Cha.

*quoted from kuali.com*

Jia n YM ordered Asam Laksa..
the claimed that it was good, furthermore, they were quite generous about the "heh koh"'s serving. haha.. look, put as much as u want!! hehe

asam laksa

nasi bojari
nasi bojari

while i ordered nasi bojari. prawn, fried chicken, beef rendang / chicken curry and spiced indonesian rice. ok, i think this dish is very very very filling. it's quite pricey too. but i like the prawn, the... well actually everything. haha. the chicken was still tender and juicy. the chicken curry was good, well the beef rendang might have tasted better but i dont take beef so... yeah. but i think i still prefer the Nasi Lemak, maybe because of the rice. haha

i like the interior deco of Madam Kwan's restaurant, especially the hexagon tiles.. nice..
i dindt take any picture of it, and i cant find it over the net too .. so, well..
